THEY CALLED IT A VACANT LOT.

WE CALL IT COMMUNITY.

You deserve the truth.

If you’ve opened your mailbox lately, you’ve probably seen mailers claiming that I don’t pay my taxes.

That is not true.

The attacks are not about my personal income taxes or my home’s property taxes. They are referencing the Ma’at Community Healing and Art Garden - a property that opponents are calling a “vacant lot.”

When I acquired the property, it already owed back taxes, which I am still working to pay off.

But there’s something those attack mailers leave out: what that property means to our community.

THIS ISN’T JUST A LOT.

IT’S A COMMUNITY SPACE.

As our neighborhoods struggled with the loss of community resources, I worked alongside residents to bring a new garden space to the Northside of Wilmington.

The Ma’at Community Healing and Art Garden represents what I believe government and community leadership should be about: investing in people and neighborhoods that have too often been overlooked.

WHY ARE THEY ATTACKING ME?

Because they can’t attack my record.

Corporate PAC money is pouring into our district to tell voters a false story.

I’m not going to let political mailers rewrite my record or erase the work we’ve done together.

For six years on Wilmington City Council, I’ve fought for issues that directly affect working families, including:

Lower Rents • Affordable Utilities • Police Reform

And I’m ready to take that same fight to Dover.

THIS CAMPAIGN IS ABOUT US.

This election isn’t about corporate PACs.

It’s about whether the people of District 1 have a representative who is willing to fight for them.

It’s about housing.

It’s about utility costs.

It’s about safe neighborhoods.

It’s about accountability.

And it’s about making sure working-class people have a voice in the Delaware General Assembly.

On September 15th, vote Shané Nicole Darby for State Representative - District 1.
