Summary:
Voters need to see in their mailboxes and on social media that Shané Darby is running to fight for working people. She has served on Wilmington City Council since 2021 and is the founder of Black Mothers in Power, a non-profit dedicated to supporting Black maternal health care. More of her bio can be found here. She will fight for housing justice by passing rent stabilization, lower the cost of living by holding utility companies accountable and ending water shutoffs, and push for universal child care. More of her platform can be found here. She is refusing to take any corporate donations.
In comparison, voters need to see in their mailboxes and social media that Nnamdi Chukwuocha protects the interests of corporations and billionaires over the interests of working people. He voted Yes on SB 21, the billionaire’s bill, which was written by Elon Musk’s law firm in Delaware. He has voted No on SB 101, which would have given tenants the right to legal representation when facing eviction. He also introduced HB 458, which would have given Wilmington the ability to use eminent domain on vacants for private use.
